Past General Meeting Program
June 12, 2007
An
Update on Desktop Linux
and
Open Source Software
Orv Beach
will talk about the many improvements and changes that have been made to
Linux and why one should seriously consider using it. Open Source software
includes OpenOffice, a free office software suite that is compatible with
both Windows and Linux.
Orv
has been the Publicity Chair of the Southern California Linux Expo for
five years and is a principal member of the Simi-Conejo Linux Users Group.
His orientation is towards desktop applications rather than server-based
programs.
Between 6:00 - 7:00 PM we have a
Computer Forum, an informal Q&A where members and visitors share with
and help one another. Notes
from past forums.
All attendees are invited
to a post-meeting get-together at Dinah's Family Restaurant.
