GEOTAGGING
Where Did I Take That Picture?
and, Converting slides to digital

Ivan Randall returns to show us Geotagging and more. Geotagging adds GPS location information to our digital photos. Did you know that digital cameras already use a standard EXIF file to record things like camera model, shutter speed, aperture, date, time and more. There are fields for Latitude, longitude and elevation that are rarely filled.

Using a GPS locator and Geotagging software package, adds this information to the EXIF file. Then, you can easily know when and where a picture was taken, along with the other information about your picture. You can place your photo locations on a map. You
can also share them with family and friends by using Flickr, Picasa  or another photo-sharing website.

If time permits, Ivan will also show us how to “digitize” our slides. Many of us have accumulated slides through the years and there are many ways to preserve them for the future.
