VOICE RECOGNITION

You Speak, It Types - - Dragon Naturally Speaking

The next Los Angeles Computer Society General Meeting
7 P. M. Tuesday, July 8, 2003,
Fellowship Hall, 8065 Emerson Ave. Los Angeles 90045

In recent years there have been many attempts at "automating" the typing process. One of the leaders has been and is   Dragon Naturally Speaking. Some of us have tried different "voice-recognition" programs with mixed results. Considerable progress has been made, resulting in more efficient programs. Remember how it WAS necessary to "train" the software for a long time? Dragon Version 7 only needs about 5 minutes of training to produce surprisingly accurate results in the 90% range. With a little more time and using the software, accuracies in the high 90% range become common.

Rich Blumenthal, President of the Saddleback Valley (Mission Viejo) IBM PC User Group visited LACS last year. We're happy to welcome his return.
