July 13, 2004 General
Meeting
Subject: Terror and Hate on the Internet
When: Tuesday, July 13, 2004, 7:00 - 9:00 PM
Where: Methodist Fellowship Hall
8065 Emerson Ave.
Westchester (Los Angeles 90045)
Mr. Eaton was originally scheduled in February but a family
emergency caused postponement. We're happy to be able to have him
for July 13. This is a matter that is becoming more serious as
time passes and can affect us all.
Information, dis-information, fear, uncertainty and doubt are
all tools of terrorists and hate-mongers. The Internet is an
easy, convenient and low cost tool for their work. Rick Eaton
from the Simon Wiesenthal Center, <http://www.wiesenthal.com/>,
here in Los Angeles has a long history of dealing with these
things. His work has included many undercover operations with
federal and local law- enforcement agencies, testifying in
numerous investigations and before Congress .
Mr. Eaton will help us to see and understand what we are exposed
to and how to interpret and deal with it. This is an unusual and
important topic.
Open to the public. Bring a friend. Come and learn with us.
Note: The Computer Forum for beginners and advanced users starts
at 6:00 PM.
All attendees are invited to attend a post-meeting get-together
at Dinah's Diner, <http://www.lacspc.org/sigs/dinahs.htm>.
