Acronis
Conclusion
So you think that your hard
drive won’t fail and your software and data are safe, huh? The end
(of your hard drive) may be closer than you suspect. LACS members
and guests have personally learned this with the failure during the first
attempt in July to demonstrate Acronis’ True Image hard drive backup program.
The very hard drive in the laptop used for the July presentation failed
at the beginning of the presentation. LACS members Sheldon Shallon
& Paula Van Berkom are ready to conclude the Acronis True Image presentation.
Sheldon has researched what probably caused the long "restore time" at
our August meeting, and Paula is ready to show how "incremental backups"
are done using Acronis. So, for all of you who think that your hard-drive
won’t fail and that your computer is safe, this is your chance to learn
how to protect yourselves.
Time permitting LACS member
Gilbert Ialongo will show and explain how and what he does to "capture"
the sound of our presentations, edit to remove "dead air", and convert
to a file which is uploaded to the LACS website where you can listen or
download to your computer.
Open to the public. No charge.
Tell and bring friends.
Between 6:00 - 7:00 PM we
have a Computer Forum, an informal Q&A where members and visitors share
with and help one another.
Notes
from past forums.
All attendees are invited
to attend a post-meeting get-together at Dinah's Diner.
