LACS Meeting Description
General Meeting
The Los Angeles Computer Society holds its General Meeting monthly on the 2nd Tuesday. It’s open to the public – no charge. The evening schedule is:

Q & A Roundtable: 6:30 to 7:20 PM (before the main program). This is where members and visitors share with and help one another.

Refreshment: 7:00 to 7:30 PM

Main Program: 7:30 to 9:00 PM. The notice for the upcoming meeting is on the home page while notices for past meetings are available in the side bar under the heading Past Program Topics

Basics & Beyond SIG
Day: 2nd Monday – Currently on hiatus

A very “open” group that covers topics from “How do I turn on my computer?” to using the Internet, e-mailing, downloading and saving programs and files and more.
Digital Photo SIG
Day: 4th Monday – Currently on hiatus

Broad interest in digital imaging includes choosing digital cameras, using them and transferring, editing, publishing (e-mail and printing) pictures. Other topics include scanners, memory modules, storing image files, burning pictures onto CDs and more.
Daytime SIG
Day: 4th Tuesday (Occasionally the 3rd Tuesday; contact Leader or check the LACSPC members-only meeting notice)

The Daytime SIG (Afternoon Workshop) was created for those members who cannot travel at night although others including nonmembers are welcome. The SIG is a casual 2-hour Roundtable for Questions and Answers of a technical nature. There is no specific topic, but we always find lots of interesting things to talk about. If you have a question or a topic for discussion, bring it along. You can also bring hardware problems in, but Jim needs warning ahead of time.
