DRONES
Joshua Sharfi

Speaker: Joshua
Drones or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are set to impact our lives in ways that we are only beginning to imagine. Whether it’s through military operations, delivery services, film making, agriculture, scientific research, or just as a hobby, drones are here to stay. Joshua Sharfi will discuss his experience using drones for professional films and cinematography. Josh will demonstrate some of the drones that he uses and give us some advice on buying and learning how to fly them. He will also discuss safety and privacy concerns.

Josh began his drone career with a small group of friends in Venice, CA. They built up a shop called Ctrl.me Robotics. It has since been sold to Snap. Inc. Josh has a long professional career of designing, building, and flying custom drones for various productions and lead tech companies like Google, Yahoo, Intel, and Riot games. He has a strong passion for drones, computer science, consumer technology, big data, and blockchain technology such as Bitcoin.
